In this place of natural majesty and architectural charm, as in a dream, reality is broken down and translated, for a new interpretation; so the nature from above of its “non-element” contemplates. Gnanzù represents the culminating moment of an ancient rite that involves man and nature; an invocation to renew the pact of coexistence in the eternal alternation between life and death. Gnanzù is inspired by the “mattanza”, an ancient technique for fishing atunes. The title Gnanzu’ is the name of a part of the songs “cialome” that fishermen sang while fishing with special nets. Gnanzu’ represents an ancient ritual that envolves human being and nature; an invocation to renew the covenant of coexistence in the eternal alternation between life and death. The show was staged at the TONNARA DI VENDICARI (Sr) and the TONNARA DI FAVIGNANA (Tr)
